FC Andorra has confirmed the signing of 23-year-old Madrid-born midfielder Hugo Solozábal from Getafe's reserve team on a free transfer. The versatile player has penned a two-year deal with the Tricolors, expiring on 30 June 2028, as the club prepares for its return to Spain's Segunda División under manager Carles Manso.
Solozábal, son of former Atlético de Madrid and Spain defender Roberto Solozábal, came through the youth ranks at Atlético before moving to Leganés and then Getafe. Last season with Getafe B in Segunda Federación, he made 28 appearances, netting six goals and registering three assists. His form led to a first-team debut in La Liga, where he played 10 minutes under coach José Bordalás.
Described as a complete central midfielder, Solozábal offers strong work ethic, tactical awareness, and high energy in midfield. He reads the game well, makes effective late runs into the box, and provides balance across defensive and attacking phases while posing a threat in forward areas.
