The International Ski Federation (FIS) has successfully inspected the Avet slope at Grandvalira, paving the way for the women's Alpine Ski World Cup scheduled for Soldeu on 6 and 7 March 2027.
FIS officials visited the site on Friday to finalise technical and organisational details for the event, which will feature technical races: giant slalom and slalom. The inspection involved on-site reviews of competition operations, validation of race start and finish points, and discussions on commitments between FIS and the organising committee.
Santi López, the event's sports director, led the visit and welcomed Peter Gerdol, director of the women's World Cup circuit. They were joined by other FIS technical staff, Carles Visa, manager of the Andorran Ski Federation, and members of the organising committee.
López described the day positively, noting it allowed the team to settle all competition venue details and strengthen collaboration with FIS to ensure smooth execution. Gerdol praised the Andorran location, calling the Avet slope an excellent venue for the women's circuit and expressing confidence it would deliver top-quality races once again. He added that returning to Soldeu is always a pleasure.
The inspection marks another key step in preparations, positioning Grandvalira to once more host a major stop on the international women's Alpine skiing calendar.
