MoraBanc Andorra Signs Wesley Iwundu for 2026-27 Season

MoraBanc Andorra has officially signed Wesley Iwundu, the 30-year-old American small forward, for the 2026-27 season, confirming earlier reports of an imminent deal.

The 1.98-metre player joins head coach Zan Tabak's squad on a one-year contract to strengthen the perimeter game. A 2017 NBA draft pick by the Orlando Magic, Iwundu also played for the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, and Atlanta Hawks, alongside G League stints. His career later took him to Turkey, Germany, and Australia, where he averaged 12.3 points per game last season with Urban Latte Kiryat Alba.

Sporting director Jordi Ardèvol praised Iwundu's defensive versatility, noting he can guard nearly every position except centre. Ardèvol also highlighted his off-ball play, outside shooting, physicality, and rebounding from the perimeter.

The Nigerian international, who holds a Cotonou passport exempting him from the non-EU quota, provides a major lift after the club's difficult previous campaign.

Negotiations continue to advance for 28-year-old American forward Cameron McGriff, a 2.01-metre small-ball power forward. After starring at Oklahoma State University, McGriff has built a resume in Europe—Belgium, Greece, and France—plus the NBA G League. With the Salt Lake City Stars, Utah Jazz affiliate, last season, he posted 13.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 36% three-point shooting.

McGriff would fill the void left by Yves Pons, who activated his buyout clause despite being contracted. MoraBanc retains contracted players such as Rafa Luz, Artem Pustovyi, and Kyle Kuric, whose deal was renewed by Chumi Ortega.

Club officials anticipate finalising further frontcourt additions in the weeks ahead to support Tabak's rebuild.
