Andorra's petanque team fell just short of victory in the Concurs C final at the inaugural Odysée des Nations tournament in Montpellier's Sud Arena.

The trio from the Federació Andorrana de Petanca—Bruno Samtmann, Jon Fortes, and Alexandre Bressy—placed 56th overall after five rounds in the Swiss system, ahead of France's doubles champions Dylan Gargovitch and Dimitri Grandjean. They missed the top 32 cutoff and entered the Concurs C knockout draw with 11 other national teams.

The Andorrans opened with a 13-9 win over Poland, followed by a 13-8 defeat of Austria. They then crushed reigning European champions Germany 13-4 to reach the final, where Denmark prevailed 11-10 in a tight contest.

FAP president Patrick Zencier called the run a strong showing. "Our players competed in one of the world's toughest championships against the top international talent and made it to the Concurs C final," he said.
