LaLiga Reports FC Andorra Fans for 'Pedro Sánchez, Hijo de Puta' Chant vs Eibar

LaLiga has reported a group of FC Andorra fans to the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission over a chant targeting Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez during the club's match against Eibar.

The organisation documented the incident at the 34th minute of the 30 August fixture at Nou Estadi de la FAF. Fans in the north goal stand delivered the chant "Pedro Sánchez, hijo de puta" in a "coral and coordinated" manner for roughly five seconds. LaLiga's weekly reports highlight such chants in stadiums that could incite violence or feature insulting or intolerant language, behaviours prohibited under the RFEF Sports Discipline Code and Spanish laws against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport.

The monitoring drew on input from the match director alongside reviews of graphic and audiovisual footage.

LaLiga's account also credits FC Andorra with extensive preventive steps. These encompassed security checks at entrances, including personal and bag searches, plus inspections of banners, flags, scarves and other items to block prohibited materials or slogans. The club displayed signage across the venue against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance, and outlined entry rules and stadium behaviour expectations. Pre-kick-off and half-time announcements via loudspeakers underscored opposition to any such acts. Andorran police and the club's security team checked facilities before fans entered, with staff posted at team and referee access points, exits and pitch edges. The away fans' area remained segregated, while posters for LaLiga's "LALIGA vs Racismo" initiative appeared alongside safety, emergency, medical and defibrillator notices.

In a separate release, LaLiga set squad cost limits after the summer transfers. FC Andorra's cap for the 2026-2027 season is €9.587 million, mid-table in the division. This tops Eibar (€9.45 million), Albacete (€8.61 million), Tenerife (€8.71 million), Ceuta (€7.16 million) and Valladolid (€4.34 million), but lags Girona (€35.09 million), Mallorca (€34.70 million), Leganés and Oviedo (both over €20 million). The limit caps spending on player and staff salaries plus related costs.
