FC Andorra Signs Canadian Prodigy Enes Sali Amid Squad Overhaul

FC Andorra has secured the signing of 20-year-old Canadian attacking midfielder and winger Enes Sali, who is already training with the squad under coach Carles Manso.

The Toronto-born player, who represents Romania at senior international level, adds technical flair and one-on-one prowess to the wings. He can also operate as a number 10, moving fluidly between lines. His arrival supports squad planning amid discussions over Josep Cerdà's possible departure to Real Mallorca.

Sali's rapid rise includes early exposure to elite youth setups. Spotted at age eight during an FC Barcelona camp in Toronto in 2014, his family relocated to Spain for work, allowing him to join Barça's grassroots school. He featured for the Sergi Roberto-named team in the 2015-2016 season and trained in the benjamí ranks.

Progressing to Farul Constanța's academy in Romania—formerly Viitorul, under Gheorghe Hagi and Gheorghe Popescu—he debuted professionally at 15 and soon became the top-flight's youngest goalscorer at 15 years, six months, and 21 days, eclipsing Martin Ødegaard's mark. In 2021, he debuted for Romania's senior side against Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier, ranking among Europe's youngest 21st-century international bowlers at 15 years, eight months, and 22 days, under Mirel Radoi.

Sali joined FC Dallas in MLS in December 2023 on a deal to June 2027 (with a 2028 option) for €2.8 million, entering via their under-22 initiative. He shone with affiliate North Texas SC in MLS NEXT Pro, scoring eight goals and assisting six to secure the title. He featured for Dallas' first team under Nico Estévez before a January 2025 loan to Saudi Pro League's Al-Riyadh, where he played eight games (297 minutes), netting one goal and one assist alongside Mamadou Sylla and Sergio González under Maurício Dulac.

Represented by Arturo Canales—also agent for Gerard Piqué—Sali bolsters options as the club eyes further wing depth. Christos Almpanis has ended his contract post-Gimnàstic de Tarragona loan and signed for Greece's Athlitiki Enosi Larissa, while ex-Andorra forward Sinan Bakis joins Gimnàstic from Real Zaragoza.

FC Andorra played a preseason friendly on Wednesday at Zaragoza's sports city against the Primera RFEF outfit led by former player Ibai Gómez. Manso's side was without injured Gaël Alonso and Lauti De León, and with Diego Alende doubtful, ahead of Liga Hypermotion's return.
