Inter d'Escaldes Defend 2-0 Lead vs Flora Tallinn in Conference League Play-Offs

Inter Club d'Escaldes faces Flora Tallinn this afternoon in the UEFA Conference League play-offs, aiming to defend their 2-0 first-leg lead from Encamp and advance to the final qualifying round.

The Andorran team, coached by Felip Ortiz, takes on the Estonian champions at Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn with kick-off at 6pm local time (18.00 hores). Goals from Faysal Chouaib and Domi Berlanga secured the advantage last week, where Inter dominated, especially in the first half.

Ortiz expects a sterner test in hostile surroundings. "I think it will be a different match from the one at home, because they'll have their fans, their stadium and their atmosphere, knowing they need to come back from an adverse score," the coach said. He described Flora as league winners who will pose difficulties, with periods of possession for Inter alternating with defensive duties.

The manager stressed maintaining their approach without fixating on the scoreboard. "What we have to do is try to be the same and not look at the score, because if you start defending the lead, fear often pushes you further back," Ortiz added.

A win or draw would see Inter equal UE Santa Coloma's feat from last August, when the Andorran side reached the league phase before a play-off exit to Víkingur Reykjavík. Progression would pit them against either Kosovo's Drita or San Marino's Tre Fiori next, with Drita holding a 4-1 edge after the first leg.
