Inter Escaldes Beats Atlètic 2-0 to Win Engas Supercopa in Encamp

Inter Escaldes claimed their fifth Engas Supercopa title with a 2-0 victory over city rivals Atlètic Escaldes at the FAF's Nou Estadi in Encamp on Tuesday evening.

The opening 45 minutes proved lacklustre, with minimal rhythm typical of the early season. Atlètic generated the clearer chances: Juan Barragán volleyed over from a David Fondarella cutback in the 32nd minute, while Jota Sanmarful forced Pol Freixanet—son of former professional basketball player Jordi Freixanet—into a save from a left-sided free kick shortly after. Inter held most of the ball but created no real danger.

Atlètic maintained pressure after the interval, though referee Antoine Chiaramonti disallowed a Borja Morales goal in the 50th minute, ruling the ball had gone out of play beforehand—a call that sparked protests and left television replays inconclusive without VAR.

Inter, under Felip Ortiz, shifted momentum with substitutions. Juan Cámara entered at halftime and tested Adrià Muñoz—formerly of Inter—with a central strike from a Borja Arellano layoff in the 59th, only for the keeper to divert it. From the ensuing short corner, Pablo Molina (known as Modric) picked out substitute Antonio Otegui, who rifled a central shot under Muñoz's body in the 60th minute for the opener. The Tafalla midfielder, who had just come on, celebrated by dedicating the goal to his newborn son and nearly doubled the lead soon after with a shot just wide.

Atlètic's David Valero headed over in the 82nd before Juan Cámara wrapped up the win a minute later, capitalising on a mistake by Emanoel to round Muñoz and score into an empty net. Late chances followed: Inter's Pochettino was denied by Muñoz, while Freixanet kept out an Atlètic effort.

Chiaramonti issued yellow cards to Inter's Otegui and Atlètic's Juan Barragán, Jean Luc, Borja Morales, and Chinchu.

The win extends Inter's strong form after their historic UEFA Conference League league-phase qualification as Andorra's first representatives. Atlètic, last season's Supercopa holders, could not defend the trophy despite beating Inter on penalties in last year's 2-2 final. Inter, the reigning Multisegur League champions, also await a federation ruling on their appeal of CE Esperança's league opener, alleging improper use of Miki del Castillo while suspended for yellow cards.
