Inter Escaldes Beats Atlètic 2-0 to Win Engas Supercopa in Encamp

Inter Escaldes secured their fifth Engas Supercopa title with a 2-0 win over rivals Atlètic Escaldes at the FAF's Nou Estadi in Encamp.

The match began with a tepid first half marked by low tempo and frequent possession changes that yielded few threats. Atlètic created the better opportunities, including Juan Barragán's volley over the bar from a David Fondarella cutback in the 32nd minute and Jota Sanmarful's free kick that required a save from Inter goalkeeper Pol Freixanet.

Pressure continued from Atlètic after halftime, but referee Antoine Chiaramonti ruled out a Borja Morales goal in the 50th minute after deeming the ball had gone out of play, a decision that prompted protests despite inconclusive television replays in the absence of VAR.

Inter coach Felip Ortiz sparked a turnaround with key substitutions. Juan Cámara, introduced at halftime, tested former teammate Adrià Muñoz with a 59th-minute shot from a Borja Arellano layoff, which the Atlètic keeper parried. Moments later, from a short corner, Pablo Molina set up substitute Antonio Otegui for the opener in the 60th minute—a powerful low drive from the edge of the box that beat Muñoz. The Tafalla midfielder, fresh off becoming a father, dedicated the goal to his newborn son and nearly added another shortly after.

Otegui emerged as the standout performer, earning MVP honours for injecting pace into the contest and dominating the second half. Atlètic pushed for an equaliser, with David Valero heading over in the 82nd minute, but Cámara sealed victory a minute later, exploiting an Emanoel error to round Muñoz and finish into an empty net.

Late efforts saw Muñoz deny Inter's Pochettino, while Freixanet stopped an Atlètic chance. Chiaramonti showed yellow cards to Inter's Otegui and Atlètic's Juan Barragán, Jean Luc, Borja Morales, and Chinchu.

The triumph restores Inter's Supercopa dominance after losing last year's final to Atlètic on penalties following a 2-2 draw. It follows their UEFA Conference League league-phase qualification—the first for an Andorran side—with a European debut against Sweden's Mjällby AIF set for 15 September. Inter, the defending Multisegur League champions, also await a federation decision on their appeal over CE Esperança's use of suspended player Miki del Castillo in the league opener.
