Bulgarian Forward Kostas Kostadinov Transfers to Mississippi State Bulldogs

Kostas Kostadinov, 23-year-old Bulgarian power forward from Burgas, has transferred to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the NCAA's Southeastern Conference. The US university team announced his signing—assigned jersey number 15—on its website on 10 July, with the player already integrating into training sessions.

Kostadinov joined BC MoraBanc Andorra in December under coach Joan Plaza, after a brief stint at La Laguna Tenerife where he appeared in four matches under Txus Vidorreta. In 23 games with the Andorran club, he logged an average of 12 minutes and 48 seconds per outing, posting 4.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and a 4.1 efficiency rating. His performance proved inconsistent despite expectations for the young prospect.

The exit severs a contract valid through 30 June 2028, which included a modest buyout provision. No confirmation exists on whether Mississippi State covered the release fee. This marks the final year Kostadinov qualified for NCAA eligibility, prompting the widely anticipated move despite his ongoing deal.

His departure represents the eighth roster departure for MoraBanc Andorra amid a squad overhaul for its next phase, balanced by seven new signings.
