Kostas Kostadinov, the 23-year-old Bulgarian power forward from Burgas, has completed his transfer to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the NCAA's Southeastern Conference after MoraBanc Andorra received a €200,000 release clause payment.
The US university team confirmed the signing on 10 July, assigning the player jersey number 15. Kostadinov, who had been under contract with the Andorran club until June 2028, has already joined training sessions with his new squad. His departure ends a single season in the Principat, where he failed to secure a steady role in the rotation under coach Zan Tabak.
Kostadinov arrived at MoraBanc Andorra in December from La Laguna Tenerife, where he played four games under Txus Vidorreta. Across 27 appearances with the Andorran side, he averaged 12 minutes and 48 seconds per game, 4.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and a 4.1 efficiency rating.
This move concludes his final year of NCAA eligibility. It forms part of an extensive roster rebuild for MoraBanc Andorra ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, with eight players departing and seven new additions confirmed: Owen Aquino (High Point), Lazar Mutic (Lietkabelis), Kassius Robertson (Dreamland Gran Canària), James Akinjo (Ironi), Wes Iwundu (Kiryat), Cam McGriff (Hsinchu), and Leon Radosevic (Treviso). The other exits are Xavier Castañeda (Nanterre 92), Sir’Jabari Rice (Reyer Venezia), Justin McKoy (SIG Strasbourg), Yves Pons (Asvel Villeurbanne), Shannon Evans II (Promitheas Patras), Rubén Guerrero (Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos), and Stan Okoye (unsigned).
The revamped squad begins preseason on 17 August with medical checks, followed by the first training session under Tabak on 19 August. The coach and captain Rafa Luz will face the media that day, ahead of official new signing presentations. MoraBanc Andorra faces at least five friendlies, including the Escaldes-Engordany and Encamp trophies—during a stay in Pas de la Casa—the Andorra la Vella trophy, and Catalan League clashes with BAXI Manresa and Barça.
