At the Palazzetto Giovanni Paolo II venue, the Andorran fighter advanced with a 2-0 victory over Lebanon's Sara Saliba in the initial round, followed by a 2-1 quarter-final win against Bosnia's Dzejla Makas. She lost 2-0 to Croatia's Sofija Hinic in the semi-finals, securing the bronze alongside France's Sayine Krim, who fell in the other semi-final.
The result marks a milestone for Andorran athletes in the competition's history and caps a strong year for Liñán, who finished fourth at the European Championships in Munich and took silver at the Bosnia Open.
Meanwhile, Andorran petanque competitor Jon Fortes competed in the precision shooting qualifier on the same day. After a poor first round of 10 points, he improved to 23 in the second but missed the semi-finals. He is set to pair with Bruno Samtmann for the doubles event the following day.
