VPC Andorra launched its Spanish División de Honor B season with a dominant 52-14 victory over Toro RC de Mallorca at Son Caliu.
Santi Lugones' squad dispelled doubts surrounding its rejuvenated lineup by scoring seven tries, two from Javier Vicente, and controlling the match from the opening minutes. Gastón González converted all seven for the Andorran side from Andorra la Vella, securing the full points haul in the league opener for both teams.
Lluc Cunill touched down after just five minutes, with González adding the extras for a 7-0 lead. Toro RC stayed in contention briefly through Alejandro Piña's boot, but Ian Granyena extended the advantage to 14-6 at the half-hour mark. Vicente's first try on 40 minutes, again converted, sent VPC into the break ahead 14-21.
The visitors overwhelmed their hosts after the restart. Mateo Macchi scored Toro's lone try early in the second half, but González' penalty at 45 minutes sparked VPC's surge. Arnau Granyena crossed at 49 minutes, Guillem Badia followed at 57, and Vicente completed his brace five minutes later. Captain Hugo Llata sealed the rout with a seventh try at 80 minutes.
A yellow card to Mariano Fauda at 69 minutes did little to disrupt the tricolours' momentum. Without preseason friendlies, the performance highlighted strong cohesion despite summer departures, positioning VPC well for a promotion playoff push.
