Andorran paddler Nil Checa secured sixth place in the junior kayak final at the Spanish Slalom Championships, hosted at the Parc Olímpic del Segre in La Seu d'Urgell.

Checa recorded a time of 96.09 seconds, finishing 9.54 seconds behind winner Dídac Foz among Spain's leading junior competitors. He had earlier advanced to the final with a fourth-place finish in the kayak qualifying round.

Checa also took part in the junior canoe event that day, ending 11th in the second heat and just missing out on the final.

Teammate Ona Perelegre competed in both categories, placing 12th in kayak and 11th in canoe.

The event, which took place over the previous weekend, highlighted the Andorran team's performance on the challenging course famed for major slalom events.
