FC Santa Coloma and Inter Escaldes drew 1-1 at the Estadi Nacional on Sunday, ending both clubs' five-match winning runs but leaving them level on 16 points at the top of the Lliga Multisegur.
Pedja Muñoz put Santa Coloma ahead, and Juan Cámara equalised in the 44th minute with what the Catalan press described as a spectacular goal, ensuring the points were shared. The two sides remain unbeaten in the league after six rounds, with Dani Luque's Santa Coloma holding first place on goal difference. Inter, coached by Felip Ortiz, went into the match having also juggled a demanding schedule due to their Conference League participation.
Sunday's draw was the first meeting this season between the competition's two leading title contenders, and it leaves the leadership question unresolved. The result gives both teams 16 points from a possible 18.
Elsewhere, FC Ordino consolidated third place with a 3-2 win over CE Carroi. Yordan Willa opened the scoring in the 45th minute and Oriol Gómez added a brace in the 47th and 54th, putting Sergio Tomás's side 3-0 up before Carroi pulled two goals back through Michael Grimm in the 76th and Kevin Garcés in the 87th. Ordino held on for a fourth win of the campaign and now have 12 points, while Carroi are still without a victory.
Atlètic Escaldes were denied a win against Ranger's in stoppage time, finishing 1-1. Atlètic led from the 45th minute through an Arturo Sánchez own goal and appeared set to take all three points until David Crespo, who had come on in the 56th minute, equalised in the 93rd. Atlètic have now gone three matches without a win and sit on nine points, the same total as Ranger's.
Penya Encarnada lost 1-0 at home to Esperança in a match overshadowed by controversy. Rubén Moreno scored for the visitors after seven minutes, and Penya's Sascha Andreu was sent off after two yellow cards in the 31st and 36th minutes, leaving the hosts to play more than 50 minutes a man down. Former Athletic Club goalkeeper Iago Herrerín made his official debut for Penya Encarnada after administrative difficulties had delayed his first appearance, but could not mark it with a positive result. Two disallowed goals for the home side and Andreu's dismissal drew Herrerín's displeasure on social media, and Penya coach Javi García was also sent off, according to the match report.
The round had opened on Saturday with a 1-1 draw between newly promoted Sporting Escaldes and Casa de Portugal. Aaron Sánchez put Sporting ahead in the 21st minute and Guillermo Gómez's side held the lead until the 97th, when Franco González equalised, denying the Escaldes team a second consecutive win. Both clubs now have four points after six matches.
