Gerard de la Casa secured victory in the touring car category at the 21st Pujada a la Trona hill climb, the third round of the Campionat de Catalunya de Muntanya, finishing third overall and taking the provisional lead in the championship standings with 65 points.

The Andorran driver, in the Baporo Motorsport-prepared Ford Fiesta, dominated the near-6km technical course near La Seu d'Urgell, marked by steep gradients and demanding sectors. Among 83 entries, he posted consistent times across two practice runs and two official ascents, separated by just 0.6 seconds, with a winning mark of 4:07.159—more than two seconds ahead of second-placed Josep Maria Soler. Joan Vinyes took third in touring cars, ending fifth overall.

De la Casa challenged the prototype barquetes directly, trailing overall winner Jordi Vilardell by 22 seconds in the Nova NP03 barqueta. Vinyes finished third overall behind Vilardell and another barqueta, while de la Casa's result edged him ahead of rivals Jordi Gaig (50 points) and Luis Aguilera (40 points).

The performance repeated his podium from last year and builds on his outright win here in 1999 with an Osella barqueta.

De la Casa's next race is this weekend's Pujada a Arinsal, opening the Campionat d’Andorra d’Automobilisme de Muntanya over 30-31 May. The Catalan series continues soon after with the 53rd Pujada a Sant Feliu de Codines.
