Andorran Bus Services Hit 515,739 Passengers in 2025, Up 15% from 2024

Andorran international bus services transported 515,739 passengers in 2025, a 15% rise from 2024, according to Statistics Department figures released this week.

Operators ran 32,907 trips in total, up 3.3% from 31,851 the previous year. Inbound services to Andorra totalled 16,613, a 2.6% increase from 16,195, while outbound trips reached 16,294, gaining 4.1% from 15,656. Passenger arrivals stood at 258,636—a 15.7% surge from 223,610—while departures numbered 257,103, up 14.4% from 224,783.

Among outbound routes, Barcelona led with 60.7% of passengers, followed by Lleida at 25.9%, Toulouse at 8.7%, Ax-les-Thermes at 3.6%, Porto at 0.8%, and Costa Daurada at 0.3%. Residents accounted for 18.2% of all travellers, up two percentage points from 2024, with visitors making up the remaining 81.8%.

Spanish visitors comprised 40.7% of the total, down 3.3 points year-on-year. Travellers from other countries—mainly the UK, Brazil, Argentina, the US, Germany, and Portugal—rose to 38%, gaining 1.3 points. French passengers held at 3.1%, up 0.1 points, excluding foreign lines from Pas de la Casa. The 25-44 age group was the largest at 37.5%.

Tourists represented 92.7% of visitors, compared to 7.3% excursionists, with tourist proportions increasing across groups: 3.7 points for Spanish and other nationalities, and 2.2 points for French. Personal motives drove 94% of trips, topped by shopping (29%), visits to family and friends (19.6%), sports tourism (19.2%), and nature tourism (14.7%). Business travel climbed 1.1 points to 6%.

Inbound passenger growth peaked in summer at 16.1%, while outbound rose most in spring at 16.8%. Autumn saw a minor decline in services amid ongoing tourism and mobility demand.
