Andorra-Palma Flights See 10.8% Passenger Rise to 6,690 in Winter Season

Passenger numbers on the Andorra–la Seu d’Urgell to Palma flight rose by 10.8% this winter, reaching 6,690 travellers between December and April.

The route recorded 6,690 passengers during the 2025-2026 winter season, up from 6,039 in the same period the previous year. Officials described the figures as evidence of steady demand growth, particularly from the Balearic market, tied closely to the ski season.

February marked the peak month, with average loads of 52 to 56 passengers per flight. The highest occupancy came on 2 March, when one flight filled to 100% capacity amid peak skiing activity.

The Andorran government views the data as confirmation of its connectivity strategy, aimed at boosting activity at Andorra–la Seu d’Urgell airport alongside the Madrid route. Tourism and Trade Minister Jordi Torres stated that the numbers underline the success of public policies on air links and their role in supporting tourism. He added that the Palma connection reflects efforts to enhance Andorra’s accessibility and provide reliable options for residents and the tourism sector.

Notably, the airline operated without public incentives or subsidies from January to April, bearing full commercial risk. This period’s strong performance points to underlying structural demand for the route.

Originally launched as a winter pilot, the service transitioned to a year-round schedule in September 2024 following positive early results. Air Nostrum, operating as Iberia Regional, now runs two weekly flights, with winter departures on Fridays and Sundays, shifting to Tuesdays and Saturdays in summer. The government plans to keep strengthening air connections to support a sustainable tourism model.
