Andorra Records 533 Traffic Accidents in 2025, One Fatal

Andorra's road network recorded 533 traffic accidents in 2025, according to figures released by the Police Corps. Of these, 264 involved only material damage, while 268 resulted in injuries and one proved fatal.

The sole fatality occurred in December when an 81-year-old man from Andorra la Vella was struck by a car while crossing a pedestrian zebra at Fiter i Rossell, directly in front of the hospital elevator. The vehicle, emerging from the Centre de Negoci car park on Carrer Manel Cerqueda Escaler, reportedly travelled against traffic amid temporary changes due to roadworks. The pedestrian died from head injuries sustained in the fall.

This marks a sharp drop in road deaths from six in 2024—one of the worst years since 2018—despite the higher overall accident tally compared to 456 the previous year. Among the 304 people affected, 195 were men and 109 women. The 30-39 age group saw the most victims at 49, followed by 50-59-year-olds with 47 and 22-29-year-olds with 46. Other figures included 45 victims aged 40-49, 42 over 60, 36 aged 18-21, 28 aged 16-17 and 11 under 16. Injuries were mostly minor, with 273 light cases and 30 serious.

July topped monthly incidents with 56 accidents, ahead of August at 54 and February at 49. May had the fewest, with 32. Andorra la Vella led by parish with 165 cases, followed by Encamp (80), La Massana (77), Escaldes-Engordany (73), Canillo (65), Sant Julià de Lòria (60) and Ordino (13).

"Other" incidents dominated types at 343, with crashes at 57, pedestrian strikes at 46, veer-offs at 44, rear-end collisions at 35 and motorcycle falls at eight. Most involved one vehicle (248) or two (251); 29 had three, four had four and one involved five or more.

Alcohol and drugs played a role in 87 cases, or 16% of the total, with drivers testing positive. In vehicle terms, 264 accidents caused no injuries, 238 one affected person, 25 two, four three and one four.
