Andorra Public Transport Hits 4.24M Validations in H1 2026, Up 0.5%

Andorra's public transport network recorded 4,240,817 passenger validations during the first half of 2026, marking a 0.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, figures from Estadística show.
Government subsidies covered the cost of free regular lines, totaling €3,994,207 for January to June. Coopalsa, which manages routes in the central, northern, and eastern valleys, accounted for 3,033,533 validations—71.5% of the overall total—though this represented a 0.9% decline year-on-year. In contrast, Nadal, operating the Sant Julià de Lòria to Escaldes-Engordany route, posted 1,207,284 validations, a 4.1% gain.
Subsidies funded 82.8% of all trips in the period, up 1.2 percentage points from 81.6% in 2025 and reflecting a 1.9% spending increase from €3.92 million the previous year.
The network ran 11 lines through 30 June, including eight daytime services and three overnight options. Daily averages climbed across the board: 803 trips on weekdays (up 10.9%), 507 on Saturdays (up 8.8%), and 480 on Sundays and holidays (up 16.8%).
June stood out with 655,991 validations, a 7.2% rise or 43,867 more than in June 2025. Subsidies backed 599,814 of those trips—91.4% coverage, improved from 90.3%—at a cost of €682,096, up 8.4% or €52,668 from the prior year. Weekday trips averaged 773 (up 11.9%), Saturdays 470 (up 7.3%), and Sundays or holidays 433 (up 17%).
Coopalsa recorded 450,569 validations that month, a 5.1% increase, while Nadal reached 205,422, up 11.9%.
