The Palau de Gel d’Andorra and the Comú de Canillo launched a new tourist bus service on Wednesday, July 1, linking key sites across the Canillo parish through August 31.
The route operates daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm nonstop between Soldeu and Santuari de Meritxell, stopping at Pont Tibetà bus station, Sant Joan de Caselles, Ransol, El Tarter, and Vall d’Incles. The initiative seeks to ease movement in busy tourist areas and encourage public transport over private vehicles.
Rides are free through July 15. From July 16, the fare is €1 per person per day for unlimited travel, with children under three riding free if not occupying a seat. Tickets form part of Descobreix Valls de Canillo packages, sold via the Pont Tibetà de Canillo website. They are also available onboard by card only. Hotels can purchase voucher booklets for guests, stamped with the validity date and establishment mark.
In a related development, Canillo has introduced evening visits to Pont Tibetà starting Thursday, July 4, running every Thursday and Saturday through August. The outings begin at 8:30pm with an official bus departure from the Canillo stop—no private vehicles allowed for organizational and sustainability reasons.
Participants tour the bridge at dusk, enjoying the mountain landscape in a serene setting, followed by an informal dinner of grilled botifarra and a drink at Bar de l’Armiana. The bus returns at 10:45pm.
Sira Puig, director of Palau de Gel and Canillo Tourist Services, described the activity as a fresh way to experience Pont Tibetà, blending emotion, scenery, and cuisine to highlight the parish’s natural surroundings at dusk and build quality summer tourism products.
Pricing stands at €45 for general admission, €35 for under-12s and residents (the latter available at Canillo Tourist Office with one day’s notice), and free for children under five not needing a bus seat. Organizers advise mountain or sports shoes, warm clothing, and note that pets are not permitted on the activity or buses.
