Andorra Vehicle Registrations Surge 19.5% in July on Cars and Motorcycles

Andorra recorded 614 vehicle registrations in July, marking a 19.5% increase from the same month last year. The statistics department highlighted gains in motorcycles and mopeds, up 30.7%, passenger cars with a 23% rise, and other vehicles increasing 22.2%, offset by a 28.8% drop in trucks and vans.

From January through July, total registrations reached 3,487 units, a 12.4% gain over the prior year's 3,102. Passenger cars led with 259 additional units for a 12.2% rise, followed by trucks and vans up 15.6% with 42 more, motorcycles and mopeds ahead 10% with 63 extra, and other vehicles growing 24.7% with 21 added.

Over the past 12 months, registrations totaled 5,837, reflecting a 13.9% increase from the previous period's 5,126.

The department noted 461 new vehicles and 153 imports for July. Passenger cars accounted for 417 registrations. Petrol models rose 17% to 316 units, while hybrids more than doubled to 170: non-plug-in petrol hybrids up 74.5% to 96, plug-in petrol hybrids up 115% to 43, non-plug-in diesel hybrids up 70.6% to 29, and plug-in diesel hybrids unchanged at two. Diesel fell 5.3% to 89, and pure electrics declined 37.8% to 28.

Year-to-date, non-plug-in petrol hybrids jumped 40.2% with 162 more units, though plug-in diesel hybrids dropped 50%.

Seasonally adjusted data showed a 3.3% monthly overall increase, with passenger cars dipping 0.8% from June.

These figures underscore robust demand for passenger cars, two-wheelers, and hybrids amid softer commercial vehicle and electric sales.
