Andorra Vehicle Registrations Drop 8.6% in September Amid Truck Slump

September vehicle registrations in Andorra declined 8.6% to 427 units from 467 a year earlier, with sharp drops in trucks, vans and other categories offsetting gains in passenger cars, according to official statistics from Estadística.

Of the total, 315 were new vehicles and 112 imports. Passenger cars increased 4.4% to 307 units, while motorcycles and mopeds held steady at 83. Trucks and vans fell 54.3% to 32 from 70, and the "other" category plunged 75% to five units from 20.

Fuel trends showed reduced reliance on traditional options amid high prices. Diesel registrations dropped 41.9% to 61 from 105, and petrol fell 7.3% to 204 from 220. Fully electric vehicles rose 43.5% to 33, up 10 from the previous September. Hybrids totalled 122, an increase of 16, broken down into 37 plug-in petrol (up from 34), 67 non-plug-in petrol (up from 62), 16 non-plug-in diesel (up from 10) and two plug-in diesel. Vehicles without fuel numbered seven, down six year-on-year.

Through the first nine months of 2026, registrations rose 9.3% to 4,301 from 3,935 in 2025. Passenger cars climbed 10.2% to 2,941 (273 more), motorcycles and mopeds gained 10.4% to 857 (81 more), and "other" vehicles increased 12.1% (13 more). Trucks and vans dipped 0.3% to 383 (one fewer).

Over the past 12 months, registrations reached 5,818, up 11% from 5,242. All categories advanced, led by "other" vehicles at 20.6%, followed by passenger cars at 11.7%, trucks and vans at 11%, and motorcycles and mopeds at 7.2%.

Year-to-date hybrid petrol non-plug-ins surged 27.8% with 151 more registrations, though fully electrics fell 9.8% (21 fewer) and plug-in diesel hybrids dropped 41.2% (seven fewer). Over 12 months, non-plug-in petrol hybrids led with 277 more (37.9% growth), alongside 2,910 petrol vehicles, 362 plug-in petrol hybrids, 201 non-plug-in diesel hybrids and 254 fully electrics.
