Andorra Unemployment Drops to 218 in June, Lowest in Year

Andorra's unemployment figures fell to 218 registered jobseekers by the end of June, marking a 10.7% drop from 244 in May and an 18.4% decline compared to 267 a year earlier, according to data released by the Statistics Department.

The Employment Service also recorded 176 people seeking better job conditions, down 5.4% from 186 the previous month and 3.8% from 183 in June 2025. Demandants de serveis—those using the service while employed or on extended medical leave—totalled 75, including two on medical leave exceeding six months. This category saw a slight monthly increase, with one more employed user and one additional long-term medical case than in May.

Job offers available at month's end stood at 1,798, a 1.5% decrease from 1,826 in May and roughly a 6.7% reduction from 1,928 in June 2025. Meanwhile, 14 people received government unemployment benefits, down 6.7% from May but up 27.3% from 11 recipients the previous year.

During June, the Employment Service facilitated 16 hires, with two more through temporary work programmes. Separately, 71 registered users found employment independently.

Among the unemployed, profiles showed 79 aged 40-59, 50 aged 26-39, 37 young people aged 18-25, 32 over 60, and 20 under 18. By nationality, Andorrans made up 54.1%, followed by 21.1% Spanish, 4.6% Portuguese, 4.1% French, and 16.1% others. Notably, 79.8% had been jobless for less than six months, while just 6.9% had been out of work for over a year.
