Andorra Research and Innovation (ARI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior Relations, Education, and Universities, has launched the Andorra International Talent project to connect Andorran nationals and residents abroad with opportunities at home. The network targets people over 18 who are studying or working overseas, have recently returned, or are interested in Andorra's initiatives, without requiring physical relocation.
ARI manager Marta Domènech and Minister Ladislau Baró unveiled the effort, which carries a budget of €10,000 to €15,000. Domènech highlighted the goal of sustaining ties with expatriates to channel their knowledge, experiences, and networks into Andorra's future projects. "Talent retention and attraction are among our priorities," she said. Baró described Andorra's global community of talent and stressed the network's role in keeping young people linked to the country, sharing what they learn, and contributing to discussions and projects.
Anyone eligible can join by completing an online form at the project's website, gaining access to a private LinkedIn group for networking, sharing insights, and linking with local institutions and businesses. Six ambassadors—Patricia Bragança, Inés Bafaluy, Alexia Llobera, Marcel Bartumeu, Yann Calvó, and Laia Montestruc—will help reach and recruit participants from fields like data science, engineering, artificial intelligence, public policy, and culture.
Activities will include online and in-person events such as sector-specific gatherings, debates, company meetups, webinars, and co-creation sessions. ARI plans partnerships with Andorran embassies, the Business Confederation, the Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Andorra to match expatriates with relevant networks.
An information session is set for October, followed by a Christmas dinner during student holiday returns. Organizers aim to build a lasting platform that leverages international expertise for Andorra's growth while fostering ongoing connections.
