Social Democrat councillor Pere Baró has pressed the Andorran government to urgently address care shortfalls for residents and excessive workloads for staff at Residència Albó, a facility operated by Fundació Privada Nostra Senyora de Meritxell.
Baró submitted written questions to the executive seeking operational details, including resident numbers and profiles, admission standards, and whether some individuals now need support exceeding the home's original scope. "We cannot wait for problems to grow before intervening. Attention to the most vulnerable must remain a priority," Baró said.
