Hooded Burglars Use Key to Steal €300 from Pas de la Casa Restaurant

Police in Pas de la Casa are investigating a burglary at a restaurant on Carrer Comtes de Foix, where two hooded intruders used a security key to enter at 2:47am on Monday and stole between €200 and €250 from the cash register.

The owner reported that the suspects, dressed head to toe in covering clothing including gloves, stayed inside for just over three minutes after the alarm triggered. They accessed the premises via a side door on a rear street using a key known only to staff, raising suspicions of involvement by someone linked to the business. Video footage captured their movements: one struggled to remove the key after entry, while the other headed straight for the money area. The pair rummaged through the till, which they threw to the ground—leaving some notes under furniture—and tried to remove a wall-mounted safe fixed to a wooden structure. It held a smaller amount of cash than usual, as most takings from the restaurant and an associated shop had already been banked. They failed to take the safe, which previously contained around €60,000 over several days.

Officers arrived promptly after the alarm and stayed until about 6:30am to conduct inquiries. The footage shows the suspects' familiarity with security measures and the safe's location, though police have not confirmed any internal involvement. Specialists have interviewed staff, reviewed the clear video despite the disguises, and examined other recordings. They describe the incident as bold but low-yield property crime, with investigations ongoing discreetly.
