FC Andorra Thrashes Leganés 4-0 for First Four Straight Pro Wins

FC Andorra secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Leganés at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque, marking the club's first four consecutive wins in professional football. The result, played before 9,877 spectators, lifted the team to ninth place in LaLiga Hypermotion, six points from the play-off spots with five matches remaining.

Marc Cardona opened the scoring in the 44th minute, finishing a precise pass from Dani Villahermosa after Carrique switched play to the right. Diego Alende doubled the lead eight minutes into the second half, firing a powerful shot from the edge of the area following a pass from Marc Domènech during a scramble in the box. Josep Cerdà made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute, converting the rebound from Manu Nieto's saved effort. Théo Le Normand sealed the win in the 80th minute, controlling a pass from Sergio Molina before slotting past Juan Soriano.

Coach Carles Manso started Cardona up front for the second straight match after his goal against Valladolid, pairing him with Nieto while benching Minsu. Sergio Molina replaced the booked Gael Alonso at halftime. Manso made a triple change around the 67th minute, introducing Bomba, Le Normand, and Minsu for Akman, Cerdà, and Cardona, with Olabarrieta later replacing Nieto.

Jesús Owono produced several key saves, including stops against Juan Cruz, Álex Millán, Marcos Leiva, Naim García, and Luis Asué, securing a third straight clean sheet. Leganés created chances, notably Duk missing from close range early on and Roberto López hitting the post late, but failed to score. Igor Oca's side made triple substitutions around the hour mark, bringing on Asué, Roberto López, and Guirao.

Referee José Antonio Sánchez Villalobos issued yellow cards to Leganés' Marvel, Cissé, Lalo Aguilar, Guirao, and Andrés Campos, plus Andorra's Gael Alonso.

The win mathematically confirms Andorra's survival in the second tier. Manso dedicated the victory to Carles Riba, who is facing personal difficulties, and emphasised maintaining focus. The team returns home to face Albacete on Friday at 16:15 in Encamp, followed by Las Palmas the next weekend.

Separately, FC Andorra and the Andorran Football Federation (FAF) have agreed in principle on a one-year extension for using the Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp as their home ground, pending signatures. The deal includes a slight rent increase from nearly €800,000 this season, half covered by government funding. The turf will be replaced this summer, affecting early European qualifiers, which may shift to the Estadi Nacional in Andorra la Vella.
