MoraBanc Andorra Parts Ways with McKoy and Rice, Signs Aquino

MoraBanc Andorra has officially announced that Justin McKoy and Sir’Jabari Rice will not feature in the squad for the 2026-2027 season, alongside the recent signing of Owen Aquino as part of the club's roster overhaul.

The tricolour club issued a statement thanking the two American players for their professionalism and dedication while wearing its colours, and wishing them success in their personal and professional futures. These departures represent the first confirmed exits following the end of the campaign, under the sporting direction of Jordi Ardèvol after the dismissal of former director Francesc Solana.

McKoy, the 24-year-old forward from Raleigh, joined last summer from Israel’s Hapoel Be’er Sheva to strengthen the power forward position in Liga Endesa. Presented as a high-salary addition for his versatility, scoring ability, and outside threat to complement the interior play, he appeared in 32 games. His averages were around 18 minutes per outing, 6.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and a 5.8 valuation, reflecting a disappointing season marked by adaptation struggles in the Principality.

Rice, the 27-year-old guard from Houston, arrived in March for the closing phase after standout showings with Czech side ERA Nymburk in its national league and the Basketball Champions League. Brought in to deliver perimeter scoring, playmaking, and defensive pressure, he played 14 matches, posting 24 minutes per game, 13.7 points, 3.9 assists, 3.8 rebounds, a 41.4% three-point success rate, and a team-high 14.6 valuation. His contract ended on June 30.

President Gorka Aixàs had previously indicated McKoy was not part of long-term plans, with Rice’s future depending on market opportunities. The club continues shaping its project for a more competitive 2026-2027 season.
