Sant Julià de Lòria Hosts 27th Outdoor Trial World Championship

Sant Julià de Lòria hosts the Outdoor Trial World Championship today and tomorrow, marking its 27th appearance in the parish after last year's absence.

Around 80 riders across four categories will compete, with local resident Toni Bou entering as the clear favourite and points leader for Repsol Honda HRC. Fresh from a double victory at the season opener in Motegi, Japan, Bou rides alongside teammate Gabriel Marcelli, another Andorran resident aiming for a podium on home terrain.

The event kicked off yesterday with the Super Test in Plaça de la Germandat, where riders set the starting order before signing autographs for fans. Competitors face familiar challenges from the elevation and zones, compounded by new regulations that punish small errors—especially in Race 2—with hefty points deductions.

Bou highlighted the pressure of back-to-back tough rounds. He arrives confident after Japan but stressed the need for focus from zone one and consistency throughout the season, given the high stakes each weekend. Marcelli, who took second and third at the previous Sant Julià event, said the terrain suits him despite the altitude posing issues for many.

Jaime Busto from Górliz holds second in the standings after winning both days last time out here. The local field will miss injured riders Jordi Lestang and Edgar García.
