The club marks a new era with youth promotion, a landmark transfer, and talent retention

FC Andorra has announced key squad changes ahead of the new season, including the promotion of Andorran international Aron Rodrigo to the first team, the record sale of Álvaro Villahermosa to Real Oviedo, and a contract extension for Berto Rosas ahead of his loan return to UD Logroñés.

Rodrigo, the second Andorran player to join the senior squad after Rosas, spoke to the media on Thursday as a new Tricolor member. The forward, who typically plays on the wing for the national team but can operate in various attacking positions from midfield forward, described the move from FC Andorra as one he accepted without hesitation due to his strong ties to the Principality and the club's playing style. "It felt like home, with a model of play that lets me maximize my strengths," he said.

He added that the timing aligns perfectly with his career, as he enters the opportunity with high confidence and the ability to perform at his best. Still young, Rodrigo stressed that arriving at this level is challenging enough, but staying there is harder. Coach Carles Manso has urged him to play to his natural game—taking on defenders one-on-one, disrupting opponents, staying direct, and turning between lines—without holding back.

Rodrigo praised the warm reception during preseason, noting the family atmosphere in the dressing room from day one. He aims to keep growing, especially in tactical awareness to fit the team's system.

The club also secured a financial milestone by transferring midfielder Álvaro Villahermosa to Real Oviedo for €1.1 million plus 20% of any future sale—its largest deal to date. The 24-year-old featured in 41 games last season, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists, and attracted bids from several sides. He will now compete against Andorra in Spain's Segunda División.

Separately, FC Andorra extended Berto Rosas's deal to June 2028 before loaning the Andorran striker back to UD Logroñés in Primera RFEF. Following his 18-goal contribution to their promotion last year, the club sees the step as ideal for his progress while keeping oversight of the promising talent.
