FC Andorra Signs Andorran Winger Aron Rodrigo to 2029 Deal

FC Andorra bolsters its squad with two flank signings ahead of preseason. The club views Rodrigo as a key investment in homegrown talent, complemented by López's proven defensive and attacking prowess from Spain's lower divisions.

Key Points

  • Aron Rodrigo, 21, joins from SD Huesca B on contract until June 2029, adding versatility to flanks.
  • Experienced defender Andoni López, 28, arrives from SD Ponferradina with 5 goals and 5 assists last season.
  • Rodrigo brings 10-11 senior international caps; López has 86 Segunda División appearances.
  • Club prepares for preseason in Murcia after Monday medicals and training.

FC Andorra has confirmed the signing of Andorran international Aron Rodrigo on a contract until 30 June 2029, pairing the move with the arrival of experienced defender Andoni López as the club prepares for preseason.

The 21-year-old winger, born in Lleida on 10 July 2004, joins from SD Huesca's reserve team. He developed through the youth systems of Atlètic Segre and UE Europa's junior side, followed by a season at Binèfar before moving to Huesca's B team last summer. Rodrigo, son of Andorran Football Federation secretary general David Rodrigo, brings versatility to either flank with his skillful dribbling, one-on-one ability, and fearless challenges on opponents. Sources differ slightly on his senior international caps, reporting between 10 and 11 appearances.

The club sees the forward as a long-term investment in local talent, adding youth and national representation to the squad alongside López's defensive experience. López, 28, arrives from SD Ponferradina in Primera RFEF, where he featured regularly last season with five goals and five assists, helping the team reach the promotion playoff final. A product of Athletic Club's youth setup, the 1.87m left-back has 86 Segunda División appearances, one goal, and six assists, known for his physicality, ball control, and attacking contributions from defense.

FC Andorra begins medical checks and training on Monday before heading to Murcia for their traditional preseason camp, strengthening both flanks with this double announcement.
