FC Andorra Pays €455K to Ex-Coach Sarabia, Lifts Player Registration Blockade

FC Andorra has paid its outstanding debts to former coach Eder Sarabia and his assistant Jon López, enabling the club to register players without restrictions ahead of the new season.

The club transferred €411,557.04 to Sarabia and €43,901.47 to López, totaling just over €455,000. This resolves the financial obligations that prompted the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) to impose a services blockade several weeks ago. The restrictions had halted the issuance or renewal of licenses for players, coaches, and other staff until payment was confirmed.

The move ends a legal dispute dating back to Sarabia's dismissal in March 2024. It follows a Superior Court ruling that upheld the federation's standard contract terms, overturning an earlier Batllia decision in the club's favor. FC Andorra had maintained the delays resulted from its legal defense, not financial issues.

With the payment complete, the club expects the RFEF to lift the blockade in the coming days. This will allow all summer signings to be registered in time for the season opener on August 15 against Ceuta in Encamp.

Club president Ferran Vilaseca and general and sporting director Jaume Nogués had previously stated last week that the matter would be settled by late last week or early this week, restoring full administrative operations for the transfer window.
