Andorra Bus Service Hits 2.25M Validations in Q1, February Peaks

Andorra's public bus service recorded 2,250,863 ticket validations over the first three months of the year, with February seeing the highest monthly figure.

The network operated 11 lines at the end of the quarter, including eight regular routes and three nighttime services. January logged 738,356 validations, February 770,504, and March 742,003.

Of the total, 74.4% took place on buses run by Coopalsa, while 25.6% occurred on those managed by Nadal.

The L2 line led validations in January and February, with 131,000 and 128,000 respectively. In March, the L4 line topped the list at around 107,000 validations, accounting for 14.4% of that month's total.

The least-used regular lines, excluding nighttime and school routes, were the L6 and L7. Each recorded 66,000 validations in January, 60,000 for L6 and 64,000 for L7 in February, and 62,000 apiece in March.

In March, weekdays averaged 834 trips, while weekends and holidays averaged 527. Compared to the same period last year, weekday trips across the quarter rose 70.9% to an average of 834, and weekend/holiday trips increased 83% to 527. March weekday averages grew 13.9% year-on-year, with weekend/holiday figures up 22%.

The government subsidised 75.6% of trips in the period, a 0.6 percentage point rise from 75.2% the previous year. Total subsidies reached 2,022,417 euros, up 2% from 1,982,747 euros last year.
