Andorra Launches Mou-te App for Real-Time Bus Tracking Nationwide

The Andorran government and Forces Elèctriques d'Andorra (FEDA) launched the Mou-te Next Generation app on Friday, equipping the entire national bus fleet with GPS devices to enable real-time tracking for users.

The platform now shows live positions of buses on lines L1 to L7 and Bus Exprés, along with those from Uclic services in Encamp and Canillo, and Massana parish routes. An interactive map displays vehicle locations and directions, while the home screen highlights nearby stops with estimated arrival times adjusted for distance and traffic. Color indicators mark early arrivals in green and delays in red, with an accuracy of 15 to 20 seconds. Coverage currently includes parking in Andorra la Vella and Canillo, Cicland bike stations, e-bike chargers, and electric vehicle spots, with parish expansions planned. Future updates will add delay alerts relative to schedules.

Intermodal planning combines buses, shared bikes, private cars, and direct Uclic bookings. Accessibility features support users with visual impairments, cognitive difficulties, or reduced mobility, including vehicle details. Around 20 new bus stop displays are added yearly, soon to show real-time movements.

At the launch, State Secretary for Energy Transition, Transport and Mobility David Forné called it a tool with "very significant improvements" that unites national and parish buses, parking, and Cicland for better trip planning. FEDA Solucions director Ivan Mora, after a year of development, said real-time data now appears directly on the home screen in a more readable design, prioritizing high-quality, inclusive information.

Forné confirmed contactless bank card payments on all buses from November 2026, replacing current validation methods. He noted the Taxi Andorra app's progress despite initial resistance from some professionals, with most now participating and others joining soon.

Usage has grown sharply since free public transport began, with monthly active devices rising from 3,280 in 2022 to 32,297 in January 2026, and nearly 900,000 sessions monthly, peaking at 912,000 in February. Officials view this as evidence of strong user trust, with further enhancements ahead.
