Police in Andorra arrested a 34-year-old resident on Wednesday for allegedly committing a crime against public safety in road traffic by presenting a forged foreign driving licence.
The case began on 15 July during a routine traffic stop in Ordino parish. Local traffic officers pulled over the man riding a motorcycle with Andorran plates and asked for his driving licence. He handed over a foreign document that immediately raised suspicions, though officers allowed him to leave at the time. They then launched checks, and days later confirmed the licence was fake. Detectives tracked him down and took him into custody.
He now faces charges specifically for document forgery.
In related enforcement, police detained six men over recent days for driving with blood alcohol levels exceeding the criminal threshold. The drivers, aged 29 to 51, recorded readings from 0.87 to 2.14 grams per litre of blood.
