Police in Andorra made five arrests over the weekend for various offences, including drunk driving, licence violations, and a domestic assault.
Officers detained a 48-year-old resident at 02:25 on Friday 31 July on suspicion of a physical assault against his partner. Police responded to a report of domestic violence and found the woman distressed, crying, with blood on her lips and significant redness on her neck.
Two drivers, aged 30 and 31, were stopped on Friday 31 July and Sunday 2 August for breaching court orders suspending their driving licences, constituting offences against the administration of justice.
In the early hours of Saturday 1 August, authorities arrested two more men, aged 34 and 36, after breath tests revealed blood alcohol levels of 1.88 and 1.77 grams per litre—exceeding the criminal threshold of 1.0 gram per litre. The 36-year-old also faces a charge related to property damage for impairing a parking barrier in Andorra la Vella.
Police have provided no further details on the incidents.
