Andorra-la Seu Airport recorded its highest-ever July activity with 1,063 operations, an 83% increase from the previous year.

Public services accounted for 35% of these movements, underscoring the facility's strategic value for emergency support and regional connectivity, according to Generalitat de Catalunya officials. The airport hosts permanent bases for key public units, such as the Special Actions Group (GRAE) for mountain rescues, the Medical Emergencies Service (SEM), and Generalitat firefighters. Many operations focused on forest fire prevention and response, as well as other emergencies in Catalonia.

Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition councillor Sílvia Paneque hailed the figures as proof of the airport's potential and public service role. She described it as a key Pyrenean asset that enhances territorial links while bolstering public safety through emergency and civil protection efforts. The site's operations address the region's distinct geographic demands, promoting cohesion and rapid specialized responses.

Generalitat representatives highlighted how the data affirm the airport's centrality to Pyrenean infrastructure, aiding both connectivity and vital public services amid rising emergency pressures.

Separately, Andorran officials continue prioritizing a regular Paris route over options like Lisbon. Transport Secretary of State David Forné revealed talks with European carriers, including Air Nostrum. The longer distance—50% farther than Madrid—necessitates tailored aircraft evaluations, but Forné views the link as essential given Paris's prominence, with other routes to follow.
