Multiple Road Incidents in Andorra Thursday: Crashes Injure Five, One Driver Arrested

A 55-year-old Andorran motorcyclist suffered non-serious injuries after falling from his bike in a solo crash on the CG-1 southbound through Santa Coloma on Thursday afternoon, causing brief road closure and traffic backups.

Police responded to the alert around 3:45pm near the Menta area, shortly before the Margineda roundabout and Madrid bridge. The Andorran-registered motorcycle veered off without colliding with other vehicles, and the cause remains undetermined, according to police. Firefighters sent an ambulance, transporting the rider to hospital for observation. His injuries are not life-threatening, though further medical updates are unavailable.

Officers closed the section temporarily to manage the scene and divert traffic, with the central southbound lane most affected. Delays persisted in the area as police oversaw clearance.

Around 5:15pm, a 32-year-old rider on an Andorran-registered motorcycle collided with a Spanish-registered car near the Aixovall roundabout on the CG-1, falling and sustaining injuries. He received initial treatment at the scene before transfer to Nostra Senyora de Meritxell hospital. Earlier accounts had placed a similar incident on the CG-6 in Sant Julià de Lòria, but it occurred on the CG-1.

Just after midnight in Incles on the CG-2, a 29-year-old female non-resident pedestrian—a passenger from one of two Andorran-registered cars stopped after a minor collision—was struck by a third Andorran-registered car that lost control around 12:20am. She reported back pain and was hospitalized but expected for imminent discharge with no serious harm. The 22-year-old driver tested positive for alcohol and drugs, resulting in his arrest on charges of endangering public safety and causing injury. He will appear in court shortly. Firefighters, police traffic specialists, and Canillo traffic agents attended.

Additional Thursday incidents involved only material damage near Encamp—on the CG-2 at the François Mitterrand avenue roundabout—and at the Dos Valires exit near La Massana, initially thought possibly serious but confirmed minor.

The previous evening on the CG-1 in Andorra la Vella at kilometre 0.150, a 22-year-old male rider and his 30-year-old passenger sustained light injuries after their Andorran-registered motorcycle hit an Andorran car around 9pm.
